WIC Nutrition Program

Who Can Get WIC?

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) offers federal grants to states for extra food, doctor referrals, and tips on eating right for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum moms. It also helps babies and little kids up to age five who need better nutrition.

You might qualify for WIC if you are:

– A pregnant lady

– A mama breastfeeding her baby (in the first year)

– A mama who recently had a baby (until the little one is 6 months old)

– A baby or young child under 5 years old

 What WIC Provides

– Healthy foods

– Advice on nutrition

– Help with breastfeeding

– Referrals to healthcare

 To Get WIC, You Also Need:

– A lower or moderate income

– A specific nutritional need that WIC foods and tips on eating right can help with

 Foods WIC Offers

WIC gives vouchers to use at participating markets for things like:

– Formula for infants

– Milk

– Cheese

– Eggs

– Cereal

– Peanut butter

– Juices with fruits or veggies

– Dry beans or peas

– Iron-fortified formula
