Employment Opportunities

Suwanee is a strategic area for many companies to settle due to its position in the economically successful metro Atlanta and its proximity to downtown Atlanta. As such, some large-scale businesses and corporations call Suwanee home. Gwinnett County boasts a reputation as a place of great economic health and houses many national and international companies. With data collected by the U.S. Census Bureau that states the mean commuting time to work at 31.5 minutes, you can assume that a majority of Suwanee residents commute out of the city to work. The local government has developed projects to increase the presence of larger businesses in the city; city leaders have developed Suwanee Gateway, a revitalization of the city’s commercial district into a mixed-use commercial center. The city of Suwanee also works in close cooperation with the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce to bring new business into the city

Women’s Health and Pediatric Clinics

Similar to other cities and residential areas surrounding Atlanta, there is a large focus on the health of female and adolescent youth. Suwanee and its surrounding cities house a few women’s health clinics, including John Y Lee Obstetrics & Gynecology and Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth and Complete Women’s Healthcare in Johns Creek. Suwanee and its neighboring cities also host a few pediatric clinics; they are, however, not optimally adapted for busy and working families. The Omega Pediatrics Clinic, a quick 20-25-minute drive from the city’s west boundary, serves a lot of the city’s residents due to its unique hours that are catered for the modern working family. It is also readily available during the hours of 11 am to 9 pm on the weekdays, making it possible for parents to get home from work and still be able to access the pediatrician for routine visits as well as sick visits.
