Amerigroup – Georgia Families

Amerigroup community care is one of the plans currently offered for Georgia Families and has been offered in the entire state of Georgia since 2012. If you’re currently a member of Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids, the Department of Community Health services are supplemented by one of the healthcare plans in your region, such as Amerigroup. One of the added benefits of Amerigroup is free preapproved over-the-counter medicines as well as free membership to Boys & Girls Club for kids 6 to 18. You can also have access to educational programs that would help you manage any health conditions. If your PCP is already a member of the Amerigroup network, then your doctor will be advised of the changes to your plan.

Members of Amerigroup benefit from a large network of primary care providers to choose from for vision and dental care for children and adults, free round-trip rides, wellness visits and shots, low and no-cost medicines, specialist services and hospital stays, all with copays that range from $0.50 to $12.50. In addition, plan members receive extra benefits such as dental exam and cleaning every six months, vision care, 24-hour nurse helpline, case management services, free flu shots and a free weight management program. Omega Pediatrics ensures that your access to your primary care provider is seamless, unhindered and sensitive to the needs of the family. Our doctor is one phone call away and that in itself is priceless. We also have some tools that help keep messages flowing between the doctor and the family such as patient portal and JamboDoc.

Healthcare Referrals With Amerigroup

For specialist care, your Primary Care Provider – PCP (your main doctor) can send you through a referral and set up a visit with that specialist. Female plan members don’t have to see the PCP for referrals to see an Obstetrician or Gynecologist. Also, the PCP does not have to be consulted before seeing a behavioral health provider for mental health, alcohol abuse or substance abuse services. A detailed member handbook is available and updated online in both English and Spanish and provides all the information needed for plan members in most situations. A toll-free number is also available for member services to provide answers to any question. These can be found on the Amerigroup website.

Start Evisit (Telemedicine)

Omega Pediatrics Difference: At Omega Pediatrics in Roswell we understand the challenges that parents face when their children develop symptoms late in the day or after hours. Many pediatric offices rarely see patients after 4 pm however we are open every weekday up to 9 pm for both appointments and walk-ins. We also have telemedicine via evisits for our known patients. Our clinic is one of the easily accessible pediatric primary care clinics in Roswell and Alpharetta. We provide pediatric primary care to families in the North Fulton area and beyond, serving families that live in Milton, Sandy Springs, Johns Creek, Duluth, Cumming, Woodstock-Canton and beyond.

Immunizations and checkups after-hours: One advantage of switching to Omega Pediatrics for your child’s primary care is that you can bring your child in for immunization or annual checkup after regular business hours. We provide this service because we have passion for what we do and we want to be a comfortable and convenient service, not the ordinary pediatric doctor’s office.
